Learn what to expect in your role as an Advisor, critical steps of the Title IX grievance process, as well as how to support your party through a trauma-informed lens.

1:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. | Welcome

In addition to speaker introductions, participants are asked to share their biggest challenges related to the serving in the role of Advisor, areas in which they feel most confident, and their overall goals for the training.

1:15 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. | Overview of the Title IX Regulations

This opening session reviews the 2020 Title IX regulations, including the three-pronged definition of sexual harassment, a school’s obligation to provide supportive measures, the formal complaint process, investigations, informal resolution options, standards of evidence, and hearings.

2:30 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. | Break

2:45 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Preparing for Title IX Hearings and Cross-Examination

TIXS instructors thoroughly explain what to expect during the Title IX hearing process. In addition to sharing best practices, they also explain how to review the investigative report, craft cross-examination questions, understand relevance, and prepare to effectively participate in a Title IX hearing.

4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Frequently Asked Questions with Professional Title IX Advisors

TIXS’ professional Title IX Advisors leverage their own experiences to answer commonly asked questions about the Title IX grievance process. They also discuss their responses to particularly challenging situations that may arise for Title IX Advisors. Finally, they share their perspectives on the difference between serving as a Title IX Advisor and attorney for a party.

5:00 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. | Training Debrief and Q&A

Participants are asked to share key takeaways from the program while instructors answer any remaining questions from the training.
