The Department of Education has released its Final Rule under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities receiving federal financial assistance. 

The Final Rule went into effect on August 1, 2024, and will apply to complaints of sex discrimination regarding alleged conduct that occurs on or after that date.
